A trace of Singapore?

Today I felt a tiny little bit Singaporean. The feeling occured when we played a game called Charade at TUF’s Chinese New Year reunion dinner. The game is simple: one person uses acting and pantomime to describe a word, the rest of the players try to guess which word or phrase the actor has in mind.

Now there was a word under the topic “student life” where the actor first made an eating gesture (like holding chopsticks) and then seemed to close a small box. “Da Bao!”1) I shouted, and got the point ;-)

Indeed we had a lot of fun. More Singaporean lifestyle posts and pictures from the reunion dinner are soon to come…

1)Da Bao (pronounced Ta Pau) is Singlish for take away. I learned the word from Diana during exam period, when I tried without success to buy take-away food.
