One morning in December, I found my Nokia N90 all wet.. The battery liquid had flown out, and everything looked quite corroded. That’s why today I went to the Nokia Shop at Parkway Parade where I had left my phone for repair one week ago. The service employee returned it to me together with a paper where a big red stamp read: BER.
“We are sorry for all the inconvenience,” she said with a solemn face. “The motherboard is all corroded. Your phone is beyond economic repair.” Well, at least I learned a new word. Am I now supposed to pay the $26.75 investigation fee they mentioned last week? Nobody seemed to care anymore, so I just took my phone and left.
Later that day I met Anna at Bugis. We headed for Sim Lim Square to buy an IPod for her, and I looked for the cheapest phone I could find. $75 seemed to be the best serious offer, which means I’m now a proud owner of a LG KG271. It can send SMS and make calls and wake me up in the morning… I’m pretty happy with it ;-)
